From your initial ideas through to my designs and eventual build of your garden, working with Tom Drake Garden Design will be a collaborative, organic process. I endeavour to work closely with each client at every step to achieve your ideal outdoor space.

I ensure that I work on each project; from small backyards that I can take on personally to larger spaces where I expand the team. I find this way of working on site allows for open communication on how our ideas and plans can evolve during the creation of your garden.

Having trained at Merrist Wood Collage in Guilford nearly 20 years ago I have since been designing urban gardens mainly in and around London. Building up our client base mainly on a word of mouth basis, our work ethic, design style and enthusiasm for the job has allowed us to build a strong reputation. Now, having relocated to the Kent coast, I’m excited to expand our client base into Margate and its surrounding areas.

When it comes to designing your perfect garden we like to think outside the box. Coming up with new, innovative ideas to bring a garden to life. We love to bring together the old and the new; reclaiming metal and wood, utilising interesting colour palettes and plants, sourcing unique furniture (we can also create one off garden structures such as reclaimed garden bars, kitchens, shade rooms, tree houses and more) and selecting the perfect lighting to create a warm, social, relaxing and intimate garden.

For the past ten years we have also enjoyed working on gardens in conjunction with Retrouvius (a renowned architectural salvage and design company) to create the outdoor spaces that feature in their wider home renovation designs. Some of which have received coverage in specialist design magazines in recent years.

Project sizes can vary from a small back yard 5 day mini makeover to larger 5+ month jobs with a complete design and build. Whatever the size of the job in hand, we take pride in working hard to breathe new life into your garden space so you can enjoy it for years to come.
